The photojournalist club has objected to the misbehavior of Chetan Sapkota, president of Musicians Association, while taking pictures of the program to pay tribute to singer and musician Bhaktaraj Acharya.
The club claims that President Sapkota killed Sujan Gurung, a member of the club and Gorkhapatra daily's photojournalist, for no reason, and used insulting words like 'this program should not be filmed'.
"The club is of the opinion that the incident which took place on 15th of February 2080 in the premises of Nepal Sangeet and Natya Pragya Academy located in Naxal is an attempt to interfere with the freedom of the press and the constitutional fundamental rights of journalists to gather information," said the press release issued by the club's general secretary Prakash Chandra Timilsena. Attempting to disrupt the collection of news and photographs is not acceptable under any circumstances.'
