Finance Minister Barshman Pun has urged American businessmen to invest in Nepal. During his visit to the US, Finance Minister Pun interacted with the officials of the American (US) Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC and said that Nepal is an attractive destination for international investors.

Due to its landlocked location, Finance Minister Pun said that Nepal is the only country that can connect India and China, which are becoming two emerging economic centers of the world, and is a suitable destination for foreign investors.

Stating that Nepal has good investment opportunities in energy, tourism, agriculture and information technology sectors, Minister Pun informed that the government has a clear policy to protect private sector investors. He said that Nepal can be a strong destination for international investors due to export incentives, flexible tax policy and policy arrangements that can easily take profits.

Minister Pun said that the foreign exchange reserves of Nepal have reached a high point recently and said that the overall economic situation is good and the economy is free from pressure as economic activity has started to increase.

Minister Pun informed that the third international investment conference will be held on the 16th and 17th of Baisakh with the slogan 'Emerging Nepal' and before that, the government is going to amend about a dozen laws that are considered unfavorable to investment through an ordinance. .

Similarly, Minister Pun also said that a practical process will be decided so that the company can register and begin investment and take out profits. He said that since Nepal is a democratic country with the rule of law, industry-business friendly laws and structures have been well developed. investment conference, Minister Pun informed that the investment board will put 133 projects including hydropower production, transmission line expansion, tourism, agricultural production and information technology in the exhibition and said that it is believed that prestigious private sector houses from America will participate. He mentioned that although the US has been helping Nepal's development through loans and grant aid for a long time, the investment of the private sector is low.
