Nisikhola bus accident: Death toll reaches 9 [Update]

28 people were injured in the accident. According to Police Inspector Hari Bhattarai of District Police Rukum East, the deceased are 3 women and 6 men. Among the dead, only bus driver Subas Gautam and bus owner Bobby Nepali of Rukum Paschim have been identified. The identity of 7 people is yet to be revealed.

Wagmati Pradesh bus No. 01-006 B 3879 left for Kathmandu at 11:30 am on Monday from Rukum West met with an accident at 5:30 pm. Police Inspector Rajkumar Vick of Burtiwang District Police Office, who was involved in rescuing a bus with 33 passengers including the driver, fell 150 meters down the road. He said that there was difficulty in rescue as the bus fell from the downward spiral into the gorge of Bhir.

28 people were injured in the accident. Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan KC informed that one of the injured is being treated at Burtibang Primary Health Center and 27 others have been brought to Dhawalagiri Hospital in Baglung.

18-year-old Lucky Punmagar of Dang, 27-year-old Binita KC of Paschim Rukum Musikot-1, vehicle rich Babiddel Nepali of Rukum Paschim Musikot Municipality-2 Ratamata, 35-year-old Tika KC of Musikot Municipality-4 Solabang, Musikot Municipality-3 Sankhki Kalpana KC, Rolpa Information officer KC said that Mansingh Vick alias Subas Gautam, a driver of the house, Geeta Thapa of Gorkha house, Sujan Maharjan of Lalitpur and 25-year-old Vikram Pariyar of Rumalbara, Rukumpoor Sisne Rural Municipality-5, have died.

Most of those who lost their lives in the accident are from Rukum . He said that the bodies of seven people who died on the spot were sent to Rukum on Monday night. The bodies of two people have been kept at Burtibang Primary Health Center. After it was not possible to treat all the injured in Burtibang, they were 'referred' to Dhawalagiri Hospital Baglung.

52-year-old Dasharath Nepali of Rukum Paschim Musikot Municipality-1, 30-year-old Chkendrajung Sen of the same place, 26-year-old Pushkar Budha of Aathbiskot Municipality-1, 24-year-old Govind Bohra of Gulmi Madane Rural Municipality-1, 65 of Rukum Paschim Musikot Napa-3 were killed in the accident. Hark Bahadur KC, 35-year-old Him Bahadur Pandey of Botliwang-7, 50-year-old Bal Bahadur Pun of Gulmi Malika Rural Municipality-1, 26-year-old Lakshman Bogti of Surkhet Panchapuri Municipality-8, 22-year-old Tikaram Vick of Rukum Paschim, Lakshmi Punagar of the same place, Botliwang-11 22-year-old Savina Punmagar, 38-year-old Hemraj KC of Rukumpaschim were injured.

Similarly, 24-year-old Ganesh Khadka of Musikot Municipality-3 in Rukum Paschim, 23-year-old Srishti Gayre of Kathmandu Tokha Municipality-3, 28-year-old Aviskar Dharala of Dolpa Tripurasundari Municipality-3, 27-year-old Sarita Khadka of Rukum Paschim Musikot-3, from the same place Gyanu Dhakal, 24-year-old Anugya Bhattarai of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-14, 46-year-old Bina Sharma of Musikot-4, 44-year-old Kamala KC of the same place, 20-year-old Lakshmi Punmagar, 55-year-old Leela KC, 30-year-old Sashiram Khadka, 18-year-old Sapna Wali of Musikot 60-year-old Hark Bahadur JC of Municipality-3, 26-year-old Dinesh Khadka of Sanoberi Rural Municipality-1, 28-year-old Hemraj KC of Triveni Rural Municipality-1 and 26-year-old Devendra Rizal of Jugal Rural Municipality-2 of Sindhupalchok were informed by Deputy Superintendent of Police KC.
