There will be a competition among 8 people who have applied to become members of Tribhuvan University Service Commission. The committee formed to recommend names for the appointment of members has sent them to the Ministry of Education next Friday and Saturday for presentation of the thinking paper with action plan and interview.
Based on the recommendations of the committee chaired by Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Education Sumana Shrestha, the Chancellor and the Prime Minister appoint members of the Commission. Prof. Dr. Ghanshyam Bhattarai was appointed as the chairman of the commission last August. The committee has approved the applications of Prof. Dr. Khagendra Prasad Luintel, Raj Narayan Yadav, Mukunda Prasad Chhetri, Lal Prasad Amgain, Sanjay Acharya, Ajay Bhattarai, Gyan Bahadur Thapa and Navraj Kattel for
members. The committee requested applications for member recommendations. After presentation, interview and recommendation, one member will be appointed from among them. There is a provision to have a 3-member commission to recommend the appointment and promotion of teachers and staff in Trivim . The chairman of the commission and one member are appointed by the chancellor while one member is selected from the members of the public service commission. The term of office of the chairman and members appointed by the Chancellor is 3 years. The member post has been vacant since last December.
