Ghazal writer and lyricist Pragap Pangeni 'Shiva' has passed away. He died during treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara on Tuesday. He was 70 years old.

He was suffering from jaundice and pneumonia for some time. After a sudden health problem, he was admitted to the hospital. Upendra Paudel, president of the Pokhreli Youth Cultural Family, said that he died while being treated on a ventilator. Due to lack of funds for his treatment, the cultural family started a financial collection campaign from Tuesday on the request of his relatives and family members. The Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality had announced to support him with 1 lakh rupees.

His wife, 1 son and 1 daughter are residents of Rupa Rural Municipality-5 of Kaski. His famous ghazals full of beauty and love are . His poetry work 'Akshar Bhari Akshata', song collection 'Yo Man Kaai Aljheko Che' and 'Junko Chithi Junalai' and ghazal collection 'Pranayavedaka Richharu' have been published. His funeral will be held in Pokhara on Wednesday, said Poudel, president of the Pokhreli Youth Cultural Family.
