Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has requested the Emir of Qatar to take initiatives for the safe release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student who went missing in Israel during the attack by Hamas.

During the 'bilateral talks' held on Wednesday with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim Bil Hamad Al Thani, who is on a state visit to Nepal, Prime Minister Dahal requested to take the initiative for Joshi's release.

'Innocent Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who is in Israel for his academic internship, is missing after the attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7 and his condition is not yet known,' Prime Minister Dahal said In a meeting with the Qatari Emir, he said, 'I would like to request the Qatari government again to facilitate his speedy and safe release.'

Prime Minister Dahal further said, 'I request His Majesty's personal attention to this matter.' Earlier, President Ramchandra Paudel had also requested the Qatari Emir to initiate for Joshi's release.
