9 buffaloes died in Lamjung due to lightning

9 buffaloes were killed by lightning in Lower Chipla Lake, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality 5, Lamjung. A local Kal Bahadur Gurung was grazing a buffalo and returning it to the cowshed when suddenly lightning struck the buffalo. Rasi Gurung, a local, said that out of 14 buffaloes, 5 were saved because they went a little further.
According to him, the buffalo died due to lightning while walking on the road while returning from grazing in the forest around 2 pm on Saturday.
A place that takes 1 hour from the village was Kal Bahadur's Goth in Namkyu. At a place called Kholm Khom, a little further from the cowshed, there was a sudden lightning strike while the buffaloes were returning from grazing. Kal Bahadur said that the buffalo he had grazed died in front of him when lightning struck. According to him, one pregnant buffalo, 4 pregnant buffaloes and 4 padapadi died due to lightning.
After getting information about the incident, the villagers went there. Asai Ramesh Shrestha of Bahundanda police station said that the police have returned after reaching the spot. According to him, details of damage of around 7 lakh rupees have been received. The cowherd has gone to the forest from the cowshed to graze buffaloes in the morning. On the way back, 9 buffaloes along with padapadi were found dead by lightning," he said.
Rasi said that Kal Bahadur's buffalo, who was living in a cowshed from a young age and supporting his family by selling milk and ghee, was killed by lightning, Rasi said. There is no income. That is buffalo farming. "They are unable to speak after 9 buffaloes are killed at once," he said.
