Victim's statement in the ambulance

He was not able to speak. Neither could get up and go out. The person giving the statement is injured. He is still receiving treatment in the hospital after being injured in a road accident on November 29th. He was taken to District Court Baglung in an ambulance from Pokhara. The statement of the injured was made inside the ambulance.

On October 29, 65-year-old Kaviram Thapa of Banpa 10 Bhakunde was injured when a Bolero pickup jeep coming from Rayadanda to Baglung Bazar overturned near the powerhouse of Banpa 3. He was seriously injured in a seemingly normal accident and is still undergoing treatment.

The seriously injured Thapa was taken to Pokhara for treatment. After not being in Pokhara, he was treated at Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu. Even now, Thapa's left arm does not work. The bid did not come out. There are wounds all over the body. Their stay in the hospital for 7 months has cost them lakhs of rupees.

Thapa's nephew Himalal Thapa's complaint on behalf of the victim, a case has been filed against the driver Manoj KC in the case of 'criminal accident' i.e. vehicle dismemberment in the district court. After the court ordered the victim's statement, Thapa, who was being treated in Pokhara, was brought to the court by ambulance on Wednesday.

A case has been filed against the driver KC on the charge of intentionally causing an accident. This is a governmental issue. But the victim could not register a complaint for a long time. "We were able to register the case only after a long effort," said Minu Pun, Gandaki state president of the Mongol National Organization Gopal Gurung Group, "It was very difficult to give justice to the victim." The injured Thapa is the Baglung coordinator of the organization.

victim Thapa's wife Lekhmaya has been taking care of her for 7 months. The staff of the public prosecutor's office took Thapa's statement from the gestures and written information of the injured. As he is right-handed, Thapa wrote the answers to some of the questions. Some of the information was given by his wife Lekhmaya. Senior advocate Krishna Prasad Sharma Niure said, "If there is a death in a vehicle accident, the case is related to the death of the vehicle, if there is a disability, the case is related to the vehicle dismemberment."

Niure said that it was clear to the court how serious this incident was. "Since there is no one to speak for the victim, everyone should support us," Pun said, "We have supported the organization, civil society should also support us for the sake of justice." Wife Lekhmaya said that more than 29 lakh rupees have been spent on the treatment of the victim. But after the driver tried to settle by paying 5 lakhs, the victim sought legal treatment. The driver is out on bail. There is a legal provision that the driver must pay for the treatment expenses and maintenance of the victim as decided by the court.
