Charlie was also a film producer, screenwriter and editor. Her father Charles Spencer Chaplin was a singer and actor and her mother Hannah Chaplin was also active in singing and acting. Because of this, Charlie was able to learn the art of acting from an early age.
After losing his father when he was 12 years old, Charlie went through extreme financial problems. Soon after his mother also fell ill, Charlie started acting at the age of 13 to run the house. Charlie made the film 'The Great Dictator' about the German dictator Hitler in 1940. Charlie himself played the lead role of Hitler in the film. Charlie's performance, which presented Hitler in a comical character, was highly appreciated.
Charlie is the world's most influential voice actor. Charlie was awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 1972 for his outstanding acting and uncanny talent for making people laugh. He died on December 25, 1977 in Switzerland.
