Seven people were injured when a bus and a sumo collided at Namobuddha municipality-2 under BP highway in Kavre on Thursday morning at 11:30 am.
District Police Office Kavre has informed that the bus No. 3 B 8155 coming from Bhakunde towards Dhulikhel through the highway and Sumo No. 1 J 4377 coming from the opposite direction collided with each other.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha informed that 7 out of 10 passengers on Sumo were injured. According to him, sumo driver Burga Magar, 55 years old from Yajnabhumi Municipality-8 of Dhanusha district, Rasudevi Mahara, 52 years old from Bardibas, Mahottari, Sumindra Devi, 48 years old from Bardibas, Durga Baraili, 39 years old from Mahottari, Sabina Thaplia, 35 years old from Sarlahi Lalbandi, Sahnya Thaplia, 8 years old son of Sabina, were killed in the accident. And 34-year-old Suman Bik of Mahottari-3 has been injured. They are being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital in the district.
The police have informed that the bus driver has been detained by the Bhakunde police station and is conducting necessary investigations.
