Why did ICC chief Barkley come to Kathmandu?

International Cricket Council (ICC) chief Greg Barkley arrived in Kathmandu on Monday. He was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Vice President Roshan Kumar Singh, Secretary Paras Khadka and Treasurer Padam Khadka of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), who came for a four-day visit to Nepal.
Before returning on Thursday, Barkley is scheduled to inspect the Tertiary Cricket Ground Kirtipur and Moolpani Cricket Ground and meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Varshman Pun, Youth and Sports Minister Virajbhakt Shrestha. According to CAN, support to cricket, economic opportunities and sports policy will be discussed in Sokram.
Nepal is organizing the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2027 along with Bangladesh. ICC chief Barkley will take the details of Nepal's preparations for the U-19 World Cup. Barkley said that he came to Nepal to understand the situation of Nepali cricket and to help accordingly.
"You decide your aspirations and goals, I will listen to them and help you as much as possible, my role is only to see what is happening here and what can be done," said ICC chief Barkley after landing in Kathmandu. Barkley's understanding was that Nepal is among cricket's strong neighbors and due to its influence, cricket is developing rapidly.
