Nepal has reached the semi-finals of ACC Premier Cup Twenty20 Cricket with 100 percent victory. Nepal defeated Saudi Arabia by 6 wickets in the final match of the group stage in Oman on Wednesday.
After winning the first three matches, Nepal had already reached the semi-finals as the winner of Group 'A' before this match. With the victory of Saudi Arabia, Nepal maintained its 100 percent victory. Nepal defeated Malaysia, Qatar and Hong Kong in the first three matches.
Nepal decided to field after winning the toss in the match which was reduced to 8-8 overs due to the wet field due to the rain of the previous day. Batting first, Saudi made 73 runs after losing 7 wickets in the stipulated over. Apart from Abdul Wahid scoring 37 runs, others from Saudi could not score double. He played 16 balls and hit 3 fours and a six.
Karan KC from Nepal took 21 wickets in 2 overs and Avinash Bohra spent 15 runs in 2 overs and took 2 wickets from Nepal at Al Amrat ground in Muscat. Lalit Rajwanshi took 21 runs in 2 overs and Pratish Ji took 1 wicket in 1 over with 10 runs.
After Gulshan Jha scored 32 unbeaten runs, Nepal scored 75 runs in 4 balls. Player of the match Gulshan played 19 balls and hit 2 fours and a six. Captain Rohit Paudel remained unbeaten in 16 runs by hitting 1-1 fours and sixes in 7 balls. Kushal Bhurtel zero, Asif Shaikh and Kushal Mall 2-2 and Dipendrasinh Airi hit 3 fours in 9 balls and was dismissed for 17 runs. Istiyaq Ahmed of Saudi took 2 wickets by spending only 7 runs in 2 overs.
Hong Kong has entered the semi-finals as the runner-up team in Group 'A'. Hong Kong defeated Malaysia by 7 wickets in another match on Wednesday. Although Hong Kong and Qatar have the same 4 points, Hong Kong reached the semi-finals due to their good run rate.
Malaysia, who batted first, made a score of 140-9. Hong Kong had to beat Malaysia by a big margin to overtake Qatar in run rate. After Babar Hayat scored 83 runs off 35 balls, Hong Kong completed the target in 12.1 overs . Player of the match Babar hit 2 fours and 9 sixes. Captain Nizakat Khan scored 47 runs off 26 balls and hit 4 fours and 2 sixes.
The semi-final comparison will be completed after the Group B match on Wednesday.
