Ashish Mahar of Sudurpaschim Pradesh broke the 36-year-old junior national record at Dashrath Rangshala track and field on Thursday. He set that record in student triple jump.

He won gold in the 14th Central Level President Running Shield by jumping 14.19m. Ashish broke the record of 14.06 meters set by Dhanveer Chaudhary in 2044. Dhanveer made the record in the then Virendra Shield (Regional Education Directorate Sports).

Dhanveer's opposite Ashish made the record. Ashish, a player from Kanchanpur Mahendranagar, has found this success through his own efforts. He said that he was surprised and happy to become a national record.

'I do normal training, I was trying my best. I didn't want to make a record, that's why I am experiencing happiness along with surprise," said Ashish. Ashish, who is studying in 11th grade, said that after receiving training, his morale has increased that he can do better.

Just last week, he won gold by jumping 13.61 meters in the Bagmati Inter-Provincial Games. Dhanveer Choudhary also seemed happy when his record was broken when

Devaki Kumari Dhami from Far West also set a junior national record in the girls' 3000m race. Devaki, who won the gold, completed the race in 10 minutes 52.82 seconds. She broke the record of 10 minutes 57.2 seconds set by Rammaya Budha in 2075. Gunja Yadav of Lumbini came second and Kalpana Budha of Karnali came third.

Ajay Vick of Karnali won the gold in 9 minutes 24.2 seconds in the 3000 meter race for students. Vishwaram Kunwar of Wagmati won silver and Akkal Baduwal of Karnali won bronze.

Karnali Pradesh's girl team won a record gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay. The team consisting of Bhavana Farsal, Sarita Khadka, Himali Shahi and Krishna Rana completed the prescribed distance in 4 minutes 17.2 seconds.

The student from Karnali broke the time of 4 minutes 23.8 seconds held by Aruna Rizal, Poornima Khadka, Pooja Chaudhary and Karuna Rizal from Lumbini. This year, Lumbini stood second and Sudurpaschim third. In the student relay of the same competition, Sudurpaschim was first, Madhesh was second and Wagmati Province was third.

Krishna Ball of Far Paschim won the gold with 10.57m in the women's event. Pooja Saud of Soodur won silver and Elina Bick of Wagmati won bronze.

Adesh Kumar Yadav of Madhesh won the gold in the student 200m race. His timing was 22.8 seconds. Chandra Bohra from Sudurpaschim won silver and Sant Bahadur Darai from Wagmati won bronze. Aarti Choudhary of Koshi won the gold by completing the distance in the same category in 28.2 seconds. Ritu Joshi of Sudurpaschim won silver and Angel Adhikari of Gandaki won bronze.

In the competition for 26 golds, Sudurpaschim and Karnali occupied the top two positions in the medal table by winning 7 golds. While Wagmati, Lumbini, Gandaki won 3 gold medals, Madhesh won 2 and Koshi won 1 gold medal.
