This is how the Kathmandu-Terai/Madhes Expressway is being constructed

In the 6 years since the construction of the project started, the overall physical progress is only 30.96 percent . It is divided into 13 sections and the process of contracting is going on . So far, packages 1 to 7 and package number 10 have been contracted. It is said that packages 8 'A', 9 'A' and 'B' have been called for bids and now the financial proposal is being evaluated. But because the land dispute of Khokna area, which is included in the 11th package, has not been resolved, the contract management work has not been completed.

Similarly, 89 concrete bridges will be constructed. In which 16 bridges of special nature will be built . Bridge construction work is going on in the package number 1 to 7 . The responsibility of its construction management was given to the army by the decision of the Council of Ministers in 074 Baisakh. According to which the construction work had to be completed within 081 November. But as the construction cannot be completed within that period, the deadline has been extended till 083 Chait .

Its initial estimated budget was 1 trillion 75 billion rupees. Now, with the extension of its deadline, the cost has also been increased to 2 trillion 11 billion 93 crore rupees. Similarly, after revising the Detailed Project Report (DPR), the distance has also been reduced. With the addition of three tunnels, its distance has been made 70.977 km. Its starting distance was 72.5 km
