Two people, including a Bangladeshi, were arrested while trying to come to Nepal via Mechi

The Indian Paramilitary Force (SSB) arrested a Bangladeshi citizen who was trying to cross the Mechi river to enter Nepal illegally.

With the help of 32-year-old Anup Tamang from Mechinagar, who is going to climb Mechi 34-year-old Alamgir Hussain, a Bangladeshi citizen, was arrested by SSB's 41 battalion team from Mechi shore.

After India did not give permission to tourists from third countries including Bangladesh, Bangladeshi citizens started entering Nepal through illegal routes. Earlier, a Bangladeshi who was about to enter Nepal illegally was arrested by the SSB at the Panitanki checkpoint.

The SSB handed over both of them to the Khoribari police station and they were remanded in custody for further investigation in the district court at Siliguri on Wednesday.
